Basic Instruction
for Finishing a Plastercraft Piece
1. Preparing your
plastercraft piece
a. using
a fine sand paper or green scrubbie sand all of the imperfections
on your piece.
b. fill
in any holes with powder plaster by mixing a small amount of
new plaster with water and brushing into hole or chip. Let dry
about 1 hour.
2. Basecoat:
a. Apply
one light even coat to piece. Allow 5 min. drying time. Wash
brush with water.
3. Paint colors:
a. Start
with light colors first. Wash brushes in water. If you make
a mistake allow color to dry approximately 5 min. Then cover
with desired color.
4. When using matte
finish paints you must apply a clear acrylic spray or use
a paint on glaze. Allow to dry at least 30 min. When using
gloss finish paints this step is not necessary.
